To further provide a suitable learning environment for Architecture Studio courses, the Department of Architecture has been working on a joint research with the Visual Computing Research Group, IMAGINE.

The aim behind this project is define a technological infrastructure economically efficient and able to support activities in courses of Architecture Studio.

ASquare and AGWorkspace

http://ag-mox.uniandes.edu.co/projects/agworkspace/

ASquare ASquare allows to create, edit and manage catalogues; it is possible to import images in BMP, JPG, PNG or TIFF format, as well as MS PowerPoint presentations.

AGWorkspace AGWorkspace allows to load and share catalogues in an AG session; create annotations that combine sketches, text and video; and save a session keeping the catalogues, stages and annotations of an AG session in a persistent file, among others.

SharedPaint

SharedPaint is an application that allows AG participants to work on an image of interest. What is more, it is possible to add a short explanation to a drawing (annotation) and save a snapshot of a session.

This shared application was included in the 3.2 bundle release for windows of Access Grid. Further information: http://www.accessgrid.org/project/SharedPaint

SharedVTK

http://ag-mox.uniandes.edu.co/projects/sharedvtk/ SharedVTK project

The IMAGINE research group is interested in improving the interaction and visualization capabilities in fields such as medical diagnosis, architectural design, and scientific visualization, among others. One of our developments in this direction is SharedVTK, a shared application that uses VTK (Visualization ToolKit, by Kitware) to empower AG users with an interactive visualization of 3D objects.
